  • TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER!

As like many of you on here. Over the past few days, we've have found ourselves pondering this strange new world 🌍 that we have all entered and have questioned what are the future outcomes to many of our loved industries? The fact is, none of us clearly know what the new landscape of the economy will be like once this has all ended.🤔⠀ ⠀ So, instead of being weighed down with all of the obvious negative news going on right now. We have been pleasantly buoyed by so many positive stories and examples of sheer RESILIENCE and NEVER GIVE UP determination shown by NHS(uperheros) workers, small businesses and individuals trying to EVOLVE & ADAPT to make it through this tough period.💫⠀ ⠀ Change is sometimes uncomfortable, but it's necessary for growth. If we maintain a GRATITUDE attitude and focus on what we have rather than what we have lost, we can use this TIME productively to hone or develop our skills.🔨⠀ ⠀ The key is to work TOGETHER. We see this as a perfect opportunity to collaborate and explore fresh innovative ideas to test our own imagination and creativity.🧐⠀ ⠀ With SUPPORT from the wider community. We have HOPE for what is to come, as when humans are faced with any obstacle or challenge in life; a simple word comes to mind 'STRENGTH' 💟 Elliot & Josie ⠀ S UPPORT ⠀ T IME⠀ R ESILIENCE⠀ E VOLVE & ADAPT ⠀ N EVER GIVE UP⠀ G RATITUDE⠀ T OGETHER⠀ H OPE

  • Art Sippers be merry and be creative

Art Sippers is all about having fun, sipping on drink be it beer or wine, partying to music and of course painting! Did you know that art is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety? as it let’s anyone get creative, increases brain plasticity, and can help with other mental health benefits. As Pablo Picasso one said “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” I was invited down on a complimentary basis along with Steve a community member of Love Pop Ups London to release our arty side. Art Sippers Elliot and Josie are a creative and dynamic couple who have worked in the events and promotions sector for over 15 years combined. Successfully running nationwide pop-up stores and product launches for various well-known brands. In 2019 Josie was made redundant but instead of it affecting her well-being and mental health she and Elliot decided to come up with their own pop up business adventure Art Sippers. Their vision is to relieve people of their daily stress and anxiety through engaging, social, art events. • Josie Pitcher turned redundancy into a ‘paint and sip experience’ that will brush away your stress

Having been made redundant after a 7 year stint in the events and promotions industry, Josie Pitcher hit a dead end. Refusing to let the worrying onset of unemployment get her down, she sat with partner Elliot to hatch a delicious and artsy plan. After a lot of, as stated on their website, “sobbing, binge eating & Dragon's Den watching” the pair decided to “[combine] their life’s purpose with tackling the general wellbeing and mental health in the world.” How exactly? Painting classes. Painting classes with wine. Now there’s an idea. Create a glorious and lighthearted painting, all whilst having a giggle over a tipple or two. Art Sippers, launched in May 2019 with “a vision to relieve people of their daily stress and anxiety through engaging, social art events” has brought together men and women alike, to take a step back, create a glorious and lighthearted painting, all whilst having a giggle over a tipple or two. A glorious way to spend an evening if you ask me. Whether you’re a creative or not, there have been multiple studies proving the effect of art as therapy, with Psychology Today stating that “art therapy helps children, adolescents, and adults explore their emotions, improve self-esteem, manage addictions, relieve stress, improve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and cope with a physical illness or disability.” Plus, throw a glass of vino (beer and non-alcoholic choices are on offer, too) in the mix, and you’ve got yourself a first class ticket out of stressville. Mental health charity Mind also mention on their website that “lots of people find being creative really helps their mental health” and although this isn't a class specifically for therapy, you’re sure to find some benefits from picking up a brush and trying something new. Josie’s resilience and bravery to take on a new challenge and start a business in these uncertain times is certainly impressive, but it can be a daunting thing to take on. Why not book a class? They’re currently based around West London so grab your pals and get sipping. You can find out more about Art Sippers here, as well as her social links to help her spread the word and get more people exploring a new way to wind down. As Josie says, “it’s a place where you can catch up with friends or meet lovely people in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.” Canvases at the ready! • The Importance Of Creativity In Business

Creativity and ‘creative-thinking’ are popular buzzwords these days. It would be almost impossible to work in any business today and not have someone – a colleague or client – suggest you need to “be more creative.” This phrase is ingrained in our daily vernacular. At the same time, the meaning has become somewhat watered down that it’s almost impossible to define exactly what it means. The dictionary definition for creativity is: “The ability to produce something new through imaginative skill, whether a new solution to a problem, a new method or device, or a new artistic object or form.” “Creativity is just connecting things” - Steve Jobs Why Art? For many people, creativity is synonymous with the arts: music, design, art, dance, drama & literature – but not so easily correlated with the subject of business. There are many benefits, pointing to the importance of organisations encouraging employees to be imaginative and creative via art workshops in the workplace. Fostering creativity won’t merely increase your employee's chances of becoming the next Picasso. In fact, you’re also helping them develop socially, mentally, and emotionally. Studies have found that when we encourage divergent thinking, we help to maintain employees motivation whilst generating a passion for in-depth learning. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” - Maya Angelou Most importantly perhaps, feel-good endorphins are produced while they are creating, art helps boost self-confidence. And employees who feel able to experiment and to make mistakes, feel free to invent new ways of thinking, which extends well beyond the craft -room. 5 Ways to inspire Creativity 1) Stress the importance of creativity for the business Ensure all your staff know that you want to hear their ideas and make sure they understand how innovation keeps your firm competitive. 2) Be supportive Respond positively and enthusiastically to all ideas. Never make someone offering an idea feel foolish and give even the most apparently outlandish of ideas a chance to be aired. 3) Make time for new ideas Allocate time for thinking about different approaches. Hold regular group workshops; arrange team days out or group meetings where employees can freely express ideas. Why not place a suggestion box around the workplace and appeal for original ways to solve particular problems. 4) Challenge the way staff work Broadening employees experiences can be a great way to kick-start innovation. Short-term job swaps and shadowing in-house can introduce a fresh perspective. 5) Tolerate mistakes A certain amount of risk-taking is inevitable with creative thinking, so allow people to learn from their mistakes and don't put off the creative flow by penalising employees whose ideas don't necessarily work out.

  • ART & CREATIVITY BRINGS EMPLOYEES TOGETHER

ART & CREATIVITY BRINGS EMPLOYEES TOGETHER The impact of art in the workplace is regularly underestimated. Sprinkles of colour in a painting can adjust the mood of a meeting room or a simple unique piece of artwork can provide a focal talking point in a bland corporate space. However, would CREATING art be able to directly affect the productivity of employee well-being? It appears the answer is yes! Creativity is no longer a side dish for organisations; in fact, there is an expanding measure of studies that have discovered whatever the profession, bringing creativity into the workplace has various benefits. Not only does creating art allow us to make a bonding experience with others, which eases collaboration, it can also encourage individuals to value diverse thinking from numerous perspectives. We've made a list of the 5 main reasons why every business should try to incorporate some form of creative opening for their employees. 1) Benefits of Arts-Based Workshops Activities, such as drawing, painting and sculpting are relaxing and rewarding hobbies which can calm the rational brain and stir the instinctive mind, enabling collaboration and understanding to happen. "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." – Henry Ford 2) Better Teamwork and Bonding Most forms of creativity are not competitive. Unlike math, there is no one correct answer in art, which decreases the possibility of rivalry in the workplace and urges teams to cooperate.Creating art increases the feel-good neurotransmitter dopamine. Dopamine has been called the “motivation molecule.” which can give teams that added boost, focus, and concentration at work. 3) Creativity Encourages Problem-Solving Art encourages creative thinking and lets you come up with your own unique ‘out-of-the-box’ solutions. Visual art trains us to concentrate on details and pay more attention to your environment, allowing us to see more details about a theme or problem. It has been claimed - entrepreneurs, leaders, inventors and artists all have fantastic observation skills. 4) Creativity Helps To Find The Success In Failure This is one of our preferred benefits of creativity. We as a whole realise that in business not all things go to plan. However, we usually panic at the thought of making any bold decisions, due to the fear of being branded as 'wrong'! In contrast with art, you fully encouraged to be brave and embrace new ideas and new techniques, to reach your desired outcome. And if these choices do not go to plan, you always have the ability to quickly learn from your mistakes and make it work. “If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original.” - Ken Robinson 5) Creativity Relieves Stress An ever-increasing number of individuals are attempting to incorporate creativity into their life in view of its calming impact. At the point when the workload gets substantial in the workplace, it might be hard to save time for a calming creative outlet. Studies show the importance of interjecting mini moments of mindfulness into the office space; such as board games, books or crafts where representatives can directly access them. It can enable employees to switch off from the stress of work and return from their breaks refreshed and prepared to take on the day. In the event that you need a simple approach to get your team creativity and bonding, here at ART SIPPERS, you can take art classes and workshops. We have a scope of corporate team building packages which can operate in any place suits you, regardless of whether it's at the workplace or a local bar or restaurant.  Our principle ethos here at ART SIPPERS is making creativity open to everybody, regardless of their previous experience.
