It's not everyday you get to meet the inventor of a world famous cocktail. Douglas Ankrah was a creative maverick and most known as the man behind the orginal Pornstar Martini, which includes a blend of passion fruit and vanilla with a shot of champagne on the side. 🍹 Last year we were lucky enough to be introduced by a mutual friend and his charming personality, kind heart and quick wit was instantly infectious.💟 He was beyond generous with his time and business advice over the few months we got to know him and we even managed to get him to join us live on our @ArtSippers show. 🤯 Being taught how to make a cocktail live is hard at any moment, but to have the creator watching over you was a pretty intense experience... as you can imagine Nortey made a complete mess of it and his bar shaking skills were well below par. 🤣 Douglas the ever perfectionist was quick to let him know he was doing it wrong and that he should to do it again and again and again - until he got the technique right! As a fellow Ghanaian like Nortey, his story was inspiring and the news of his early passing was very hard to hear and a shock to the system - especially knowing that he was just beginning to build his own brand with his premix P*star bottles and make at home kits (which are delicious🤤). Created in Townhouse London and now loved by many around the world. Douglas' legacy will undoubtedly live on for many years to come and the next time we order a Pornstar Martini, we'll be sure to raise a glass to the main man.🍹 Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.
